In a joint collaboration with Live & Inspire and the Malay Mail, Komunitikini will be organising the first ever Insfire awards.

These awards are being held to recognise the unsung heroes in our community.

There will be nine categories namely the Live & Inspire Award, Green Guardian Award, Animal Guardian, Gen Y Heroes, The Pulse of Sport, RA of The Year, Citizens Journalist of The Year, Humanitarian Award and Community Heroes.

“We aim to address different layers of society and engage the people to nominate their heroes,” said Mohan Raj, Komunitikini project manager.

Malay Mail executive editor Irwan Abdul Rahman said the award will encourage the public to do things for the greater good.

“Many awards have been presented to those who don’t need them. We need something like this to tell the public that grassroots contribution are appreciated too,” he said.

Malay Mail head of marketing and sales Fabian Nesan Selva said community bonds are weakening nowadays, especially among the city dwellers.

Nominations are now being called for the Insfire awards. For more information, go to www.liveandinspire.com/insfire.
