The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has successfully concluded its DEX Connex Programme in Vietnam, held alongside the Vietnam Innovation Summit 2024.
This initiative secured partnerships worth over RM150 million, solidifying Malaysia’s position as a global tech leader.
Bringing together 30 Malaysian tech companies, the programme fostered collaboration with Vietnamese counterparts to drive innovation, economic growth, and digital transformation.
These efforts align with MDEC’s commitment to expanding international opportunities for Malaysia’s digital economy.
MDEC: Strategic partnerships for a digital future
At the core of DEX Connex Vietnam 2024 were several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements (MoAs) between Malaysian and Vietnamese firms.
These agreements aim to harness mutual strengths to enhance competitiveness and create growth in the digital sphere.
Among the highlights:
- Finhero (Malaysia) and Solarvest (Vietnam): A collaboration to transform Vietnam’s renewable energy sector by leveraging technology for solar project financing and sustainable growth.
- Sandmerit (Malaysia) and Wemonster Company Limited (Vietnam): A partnership introducing advanced KPI software to boost business performance in Vietnam.
- GoFluence (Malaysia and Vietnam): A strategic acquisition that expands GoFluence’s operations, signalling its commitment to the Vietnamese market.
Carrie Lee, MDEC spokesperson, remarked, “These partnerships demonstrate Malaysia’s role in driving digital innovation across borders. DEX Connex is paving the way for Malaysian companies to thrive internationally.”
A proven platform for regional success
Building on the success of previous DEX Connex events in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, the Vietnam programme further cements MDEC’s regional impact.
To date, these initiatives have connected over 150 companies, facilitated the exchange of 29 MoUs and MoAs, and generated potential opportunities exceeding RM600 million.
The Vietnam event featured collaboration with key partners, including the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, Sunwah Innovation, and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Their collective efforts underscore the importance of regional partnerships in driving digital transformation.
MDEC’s DEX Connex Programme highlights Malaysia’s capability to lead in global digital innovation.
By fostering strong bilateral ties with Vietnam, the programme has not only unlocked immediate opportunities but also laid the groundwork for long-term growth in the digital economy.
As the global digital landscape evolves, MDEC’s initiatives continue to empower Malaysian companies, driving sustainable economic growth and fostering international collaboration.
