The Johor Bahru Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) office will be opened on every Saturdays between 9am to 1pm to enable more of its contributing members to obtain its services during non-working days starting last Saturday.
“We are also stationing Chinese and Tamil speaking staffs to have better communications between the department and our non-Malay speaking members”, said the SOCSO senior general manager (operations) Dr. Mohammad Azman Aziz Mohammad who was speaking after a compensation cheque presentation ceremony to twenty-five recipients at Wisma SOCSO in Jalan Tun Abdul Razak here.
Also present is the state SOCSO director, Che Hamid Che Ahmad.
He said, Johor SOCSO office now has twenty five dialysis centres in the state to serve its contributing members where the medical expenses are borne by SOCSO.
“Up to now, we have five hundred and eighteen members seeking treatment at our dialysis centres which costs SOCSO RM1,700 per patient per month”, added Mohammad Azman.
SOCSO scheme recipient, Hasrul Mohd Hashim, 23 , a warehouse assistant said, he has to resign from his job after being given a four months medical leaves after sustaining a chest bone injury which rendered him incapable to carry out heavy workloads.
He said he would use the SOCSO compensated money which he received for sustaining his livelihood until he is gainfully employed again.
