Indicinelive! is back after 6 years

KUALA LUMPUR – The (in)famous comedy sketch revue indicineliVe! is back after 6 years from 19 to 29 July with all-new material from the recent elections.

Eight years since its inception and six years since the last show, the highly sought after sketch comedy revue INDICINELIVE! is back! with all-new material from the recent elections.

Presented by The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat in conjunction with The Actors Studio’s 30th anniversary celebrations, INDICINELIVE! V, is the fifth edition to the well-received sketch-comedy which satirises Malaysian society.

Going off the trajectory of a new and hopeful Malaysia, indicineliVe! continues to dish out irreverent humour that boldly challenges and scrutinises our political, social and pop-cultural landscapes in its most current state.

Founder and director of the show, Kelvin Wong, is set to direct the show from 19 July to 29 July in indicine at klpac. The last time Kelvin helmed the show was way back in 2012 which coincidentally was the former klpac director in-residence’s last directorial endeavor before he left to Chicago to pursue his MFA in theatre directing.

While the 2015 production of INDICINELIVE! The Revival Show showcased comedy sketches from past shows, the much-hyped revue returns with slicker sketches and sharper parodies, crafted by a revamped team of the old and new.

First premiering in 2010, INDICINELIVE! satirises the insane society we live in through a high-octane line-up of every-day characters, familiar situations, and parodies of songs we’ve heard and are all too familiar with. It played to packed houses and sold-out shows since its inception, with after-requests for second and third helpings in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Singapore.

INDICINELIVE! V will be staged in indicine, klpac, from 19 to 29 July. Purchases can be made at www.ticketpro.com.my or through the klpac Box Office (03-4047 9000).
